TRAINING ON QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (ISO 9001 2015) IS BEING GIVEN TO LEADERSHIP MEMBERS

A two day training program focusing on Quality Management System (ISO 9001 2015) is being given to members of management of Ethiopian Sugar Industry Group as well as all sugar factories and projects starting from yesterday June 8, 2023 at the meeting hall of the Group.

His Excellency Ato Weyo Roba, Chief Executive Officer of Ethiopian Sugar Industry Group in his opening speech of the training program remarked that it is only when all sugar factories implement the ISO Quality Management System and confirm its continuousness that they could remain competitive with other similar industries.

Ato Weyo furthermore said all members of the leadership, professionals and employees of the sector should comprehend that the issue of implementing Quality Management System (ISO 9001 2015) is a matter of existence to sugar factories and projects and members of the leadership should play a leading role to its success.

The training program which focuses on Quality Management System (ISO 9001 2015) is being given by Director of Training Directorate Ato Mengistu Tefera and Ato Oliyad Lencho, Executive Officer of Certification, Scheme and Standard Sign Administration of Ethiopian Standards Institute.

Ato Tafesse Assefa, Marketing Division Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Ethiopian Sugar Industry Group disclosed that the Division which is assigned to manage the implementation of the Quality Management System (ISO 9001 2015) by management of the Group is currently executing various works.

According to Ato Tafesse the training program which is being conducted currently aims at managing and implementing the Quality Management System (ISO 9001 2015) as well as at preparation of ISO Standard Documents and its implementation which shall be followed by ISO Standard and ISO Audit training program sometime later.  Similar training program will be given to all those at various leadership levels as well as employees of the Group, sugar factories and projects, he further added.

Sugar factories have the experience of Implementing Quality Management System previously and activities to proceed with the system more strengthened is being carried out currently.
