Factory Saved 10.8 Million Birr Executing Land Leveling Work by Itself

A team comprised of high level management members of Ethiopian Sugar Industry Group led by its CEO His Excellency Ato Weyo Roba, continuing its field visit at Omo Belt, has seen on Monday February 26, 2024 the land leveling job Omo Kuraz Sugar Factory Two has executed using its own internal capacity. Had it been out resourced to contractors, the work would have cost the Factory around 10.8 Million Birr, it was learnt.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of the Group, the land leveling job executed by the Factory’s own capacity is an exemplary one to other sugar factories.
The team has also paid a visit to various plantation fields among which are the plantation of sugarcane using water pumps as well as the Maize developed on 49.4 hectares of land as co-product.
The team, furthermore, has seen the Factory’s various molding works as well as its fertilizer usage and technic and also discussed with the leadership as well as professionals of the Factory on how to execute cane chopping work as per the expected standard which in total have created an opportunity to share experiences, it was noted.
